The Refuge - Project
on National Geographic and Disney+
We're excited to be part of National Geographic and Disney+'s new seven-part series, Incredible Animal Journeys. For the episodes "Alaska's River Race" and "Polar Parenting" Florian filmed grizzlies and caribous from the helicopter with his Shotover M1 gimbal.
We also provided the entire remote ALASKA logistics for two of the shoots. From equipment rental to transporting the filming equipment and camping gear to setting up camp in freezing Alaskan temperatures - quite a challenge amid the COVID-19 pandemic. ;) A huge thank-you goes to the pilots Jake and Jada and our camp manager Evan, without whom this shoot would not have been possible.
About Incredible Animal Journeys
This is a planet on the move - animals in every landscape are embarking on epic migrations in search of food, shelter and love.
Humans may believe that they are the greatest explorers in the world, but they are not. Millions of animals migrate across the globe every day on paths that have been used for centuries. As they soar, fly, and swim from the Antarctic to the African Savanna and the Pacific Ocean to Alaska. This series immerses viewers in the action. Join the devoted mother humpback who is watching over her young calf, the small dung beetle, the monarch butterfly, the persistent barn swallow, and many other species. These intrepid travelers navigate thousands of miles during the course of their lives by using the Earth's magnetic field, stars, moon, ocean currents, and their natural senses on land and in the sea. Join Jeremy Renner as he recounts the most extreme adventure.
